10 Observations from the Couch (Pre Super Bowl)

  1. Congrats to Larry Allen, Warren Sapp, Cris Carter, J.Ogden, and Bill Parcells on making the Pro Football Hall of Fame class for 2013. (My guess on Friday was Larry Allen, Cris Carter, Michael Strahan, J.Ogden, and Bill Parcells. Cant argue with Warren Sapp going in.)
  2. Eddie DeBartalo did not get into the Hall of Fame but should some day in the future.  I admit growing up watch the 49ers of the 80s with Montana, Rice, Craig and Lott among others, I didn't know the history of how the 49ers failed before Bill Walsh.  If you get the chance to watch Eddie DeBartalo "A Football Life" on the NFL Network, I highly recommend it. Great background on the 49ers became the football franchise of the 80s.
  3. If you didn't see the NFL Honors from Saturday night, check out Alec Baldwin's monologue. He nailed it: @nfl: WATCH: Alec Baldwin's hilarious opening monologue from #NFLHonors http://t.co/EIinZAC3
  4. In addition to winning the NFL Offensive ROY, it was great to see Robert Griffin III walk up the podium with no limp or hesitation.  According to RG3 all the news on the rehab of the knee has been good news so far.
  5. Peyton Manning also was a class act as well as hysterical in his acceptance of Comeback Player of the Year.
  6. Big win for Richmond taking down Xavier at home to remain undefeated in conference in the Robins Center. Nice to see the hot hand of Troy Daniels return going 7-14 from 3 on Saturday night as the VCU Rams defeat the Fordham Rams to start February.
  7. What a crazy goal by the Caps yesterday vs Pittsburgh?! http://deadsp.in/O7kj2H6
  8. @SuperBowlLights had 5200 followers in the span of the 34 minute power outage. It took me a year to get over 1,000.(Sad)
  9. Best performances of the Super Bowl-Ravens #1. The Kids from Sandyhook Elementary #1a
  10. Two words: Leon Sandcastle.
