10 outside notes observed from the comfort of my couch over the weekend.
10 OBSERVATIONS FROM THE COUCH
- Congratulations to VCU head coach Shaka Smart on career win #100 as the Rams rock Duquesne 90-63 Saturday night. Good win by the Rams on the road after a late Thursday night dramatic victory over St. Joe's.
- How about UVA holding Florida State to under 40? Under 40?!?!
- So enjoyable to have hockey back, even though my Flyers are 0-2 and the Caps are 0-1. It's better on this Monday to be gripping about teams being lousy then not playing at all.
- Manti Te'o talked to Jeremy Schapp on Friday night and still left me with a lot of questions including when Schapp asked him why he didnt go see his girlfriend after she was in a car accident and diagnosed with leukemia? Ta'o said "it never really crossed my mind. I dont know. I was in school?"-----Really???? Worst boyfriend ever? Makes you wonder why he had to settle for a fake internet girlfriend?
- If you missed SNL go after Lance Armstrong and Ta'o, here it is: http://network.yardbarker.com/cycling/article_external/manti_teo_saturday_night_live_skit_has_him_saying_hoax_is_even_more_devastating_for_my_girlfriend_lennay_video/12706987
- Stan Musial had many impressive numbers including .331 BA, 475 homeruns, 6134 stolen bases but maybe the most impressive was that he was married to his wife for nearly 72 years.
- Both home teams were shutout in the 2nd half. Harbaugh's 35 Hometeams 0.
- Great first stat of Super Bowl week by Terry Bradshaw in the FOX Postgame that Colin Kapernick will make his 10th career start and it will be in the Super Bowl.
- Stat that I saw at Halftime of AFC Title game: @ESPN_Numbers: Bad news for Ray Lewis... Tom Brady is 67-0 in his career at home when leading at halftime (via @JLundbladESPN) #BALvsNE. Jinx?
- How about Dennis Pitta bouncing up after this hit to catch a TD pass one play later!
